Project Description

This 1920’s California bungalow needed major updates. We replaced the sagging roof with a new Colorbond roof and restumped the foundation. The old stucco was swapped for blueboard and render, keeping the original look. Inside, we kept the original doors but updated the plaster, wiring, and plumbing.

A big task was removing two tons of sandstone boulders under the house, which we used for landscaping. We also built a detached garage into the hill. Despite being an inner-city job with logistical challenges, the project modernized the bungalow while preserving its charm.
